Cutter suction dredgers are core equipment in dredging projects, and their efficient operation relies on scientific maintenance. The following are systematic maintenance methods for this equipment:
Daily Inspection and Basic Maintenance
1. Visual Inspection: Before daily operation, inspect the hull, pipes, and cutter head for obvious damage or deformation, ensuring there are no cracks or rust.
2. Hydraulic System: Check if the oil level is within the standard range (usually above the center line of the oil window), and if the pressure gauge reading is normal (the recommended working pressure is 20-25 MPa, refer to the “Dredging Equipment Maintenance Specification”).
3. Electrical Equipment: Test the sensitivity of the control cabinet buttons, check if the cable insulation is aging, and avoid the risk of short circuits.
Specialized Maintenance of Key Components
1. Cutter Head Maintenance:
– Clean debris (such as stones, fishing nets) between the cutter teeth every 50 hours. Replace the cutter head if wear exceeds 30% of its original thickness (refer to ISO 14692 standard).
– Apply high-temperature grease (such as lithium-based grease) to the bearings every 200 hours, filling the bearing cavity to 2/3 of its volume.
2. Mud Pump Maintenance:
– Adjust the impeller clearance to 3-5mm. Too large a clearance will reduce efficiency, while too small a clearance can cause jamming.
– Replace seals every 6 months to prevent mud leakage.
Lubrication and Corrosion Prevention Management
1. Lubrication Cycle:
– Lubricate hinges weekly with oil (such as ISO VG 68).
– Change gear oil in the gearbox every 500 hours (refer to the manufacturer’s manual).
2. Corrosion Prevention Measures:
– Perform cathodic protection checks on the underwater hull every 2 years, maintaining the potential between -0.85V and -1.1V (according to NACE standards).
– Corroded areas on the deck must be sanded and then coated with epoxy primer + polyurethane topcoat, with a dry film thickness of not less than 200μm.
Troubleshooting and Record Keeping
1. Common Problem Handling:
– Insufficient mud pump flow: First check if the filter screen is clogged or the impeller is worn.
– Abnormal cutter speed: Check the hydraulic motor or drive chain tension.
2. Maintenance Log: Record the time of each maintenance, parts replaced, and any abnormalities for easy traceability and analysis.
